The Calendula flower has antiseptic and antifungal properties and contains hormone and vitamin A precursors. Ingested, it treats stomach pain and inflamed lymph nodes and stimulates the liver. It's astringent and anti-inflammatory properties make it particularly useful for treating heartburn. Calendula tea is very gentle, it can be given to children for an upset stomach.  As a skin wash, calendula stimulates the growth of skin cells to fight wrinkles, keeps complexion smooth, moist, and helps fight acne outbreaks.
